Music Industry Summit

On Tuesday, July 16th Reading, PA, PMEA Corporate Members are invited to the first PMEA Music Industry Summit. This event will be held in conjunction with the PMEA Leadership Summit. Corporate Members are invited to network and share ways we can collectively impact music education.

The Venue

We are hosting this exciting event at the Doubletree by Hilton, in Reading, PA. Its comfortable and conducive environment makes it the perfect venue for this event. You can look forward to an enlightening experience in a place that values your comfort and convenience.

The Schedule

9:00 am – The State of Music Education in Pennsylvania

  • Mark Despotakis, PMEA Director of Public and Government Affairs
  • Hear what the status is of music education in Pennsylvania. Learn about funding and policy issues in Pennsylvania and what is being donw to improve all of arts education.

9:45 am – The Arts Education Data Project in Pennsylvania

  • David Dietz, PA Department of Education
  • Hear about the Pennsylvania Arts Education Data Project and how you may be able to use it to better understand your customers.

10:30 am – What is the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and How Can The Business World Take Advantage of What It Offers

  • Jamie Dunlap, PA Council on the Arts
  • Learn about the work of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the arts ecosystem in our state.

11:15 am – Creating Music Education and Music Business Partnerships

  • Discussion of the big issues in music and arts education and how the education and business communities can work together.

12:15 pm – State of PMEA and Complimentary Lunch

  • Network with PMEA members attending the PMEA Leadership Summit, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and hear from PMEA leaders about the current State of PMEA

1:30 pm – Optional participation in the PMEA Day of Service

  • Join with PMEA members to give back to the arts community in Reading. More details will be available soon. Get a sense of our last Day of Service in Reading in this video.
