This event replaces our traditional Summer Conference, taking a new direction with sessions focused on honing your leadership abilities in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) and your profession at large. *Please note that PMEA membership is required to attend the Leadership Summit.
The Venue
We are hosting this exciting event at the Doubletree by Hilton, in Reading, PA. Its comfortable and conducive environment makes it the perfect venue for this event. You can look forward to an enlightening experience in a place that values your comfort and convenience.
PMEA has a room block available at the DoubleTree Hotel at the group rate of $139 per night, plus tax. Deadline to reserve a room at the group rate is June 28, or until the block is full.
The Guest Speaker: Matthew Arau
At the heart of this event is our guest speaker, Matthew Arau. Matthew is the Associate Professor of Music Education and Associate Director of Bands at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. Event Schedule
The Leadership Summit will begin Monday, July 15 at 10 a.m. and will conclude around Noon on Tuesday, July 16 with the option to participate in PMEA’s Annual Day of Service in the afternoon (concluding around 4 p.m.) A complete schedule will be posted soon. *Approximately 5 hours of Act 48 credit will be available through participation in this event.
